About and about!

So, soooo much going on lately!

A few weekends ago, we toted little man back to Shiloh Water Park for the first time since last summer. He was enchanted. Now, he's big enough to operate the water cannons by himself, without help from hubs. (I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not!) He looked so cute, running around in his little swim trunks! We usually go shortly before the park closes, and we have the place nearly to ourselves. We spent about two hours there, laughing and splashing around, until we got hungry enough to head over to Sonny's for some barbecue.

And last weekend, we had booger's birthday party! Our little volcano was turning three, so we decided to celebrate with the luau to end all luaus. I decorated the entire house like crazy, we rented a big water slide so the kids could hang ten, and one of my friends smoked us a bunch of pulled pork. We also served a yummy fruit platter (I got unbelievably lucky with the fruit. Everything was perfectly ripe.), some coconut shrimp, a green salad studded with mango and macadamia nuts, chips, and a few handfuls of sweet potato fries. I made a luau punch (just a mix of pineapple juice, orange juice, and Sprite), which we served in bright yellow cups with umbrella straws. We had a cake that looked like an island floating in the ocean, and we perched a hula girl or two atop it. I threw on a sundress and gave the guests leis, grass skirts, and sunglasses. It was all very festive!

Clay was a little too scared to go down the slide (He went down it a couple of times, then decided he'd had plenty of it), but he loved playing in the big pool at the bottom and watching the other kids come down. He also had big fun opening his presents and blowing out the candles on his cake!

Sweet little guy started a new daycare this week, and he's been remarkably well-adjusted about the whole thing. We've already been invited to two birthday parties for kids he's met there, so we'll be doing some space-jumping this weekend and then going back to Shiloh next weekend. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the other parents.

In other news, hubs' birthday is coming up (movie and swanky dinner plans to come), AND we've booked a fall trip to Orlando. We're going to stay at a resort (we picked Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and spa - 2-bedroom condos with full kitchens and washer/dryers, an awesome pool, a couple of places to eat on property, plus a little convenience store) and hit Sea World, maybe the Magic Kingdom at Disney, the beach, and a few other attractions. We think booger's a little young for the full-on week at Disney experience, but we might dip our toes in a bit while we're in the area. Any recommendations for the Orlando area?

That's funny, in our house we'd say you missed your golden opportunity for Disney! Kids under 3 get free admission and can eat off their parents plates for free at most if not all restaurants. HA! We're making plans to take Kaycie for her first birthday, with a couple of grandparents as vacation nannies! I know she won't care, but we love to go and figure we're just taking her along (for free).
